Ceremonies
Closing bone ceremony
This Ceremony helps women find her own self and centre again and allows any energy leakages to be sealed.
It has been used all over the world to aid in the New Mother’s healing process with the purpose of closing cycles, energetic fields and returning heat back to the body.
In several countries around the world similar ceremonies are still widely practiced.
During Pregnancy the Mothers hips become wider and wider. After the birth it is important that they are helped to close back otherwise mothers would suffer from pelvic instability. This ceremony helps to realign the bones and muscles. It guides the bones back into place, helps the pelvic organs shift and the uterus to shrink back down and stimulates blood flow.
Along with the Physical benefits this is a very spiritual ritual. This is a time when the mother can process everything she is feeling and thinking and can heal emotionally and gain strength.
It helps a woman find closure to her birth story and her own self and center again and to connect to her new body so that she can have the confidence as a Women and Mother.
During this time the mother will feel nurtured, at peace and can release emotions associated with the birth, ancestors memories, traumas, and motherhood.
In Mayan Culture it is said that during labor the Mother’s spirit is travelling in the universe to find and collect her baby’s soul and then birth together. It is said that during the bone closing ceremony her spirit is called back to her body and the ritual encourages a new Mother to close energetically. Birth is a rite of passage and a deep transformational journey and it continues into motherhood.
This ceremony is deeply healing after the loss of a baby, traumatic birth, a hysterectomy, or where fertility problems present themselves.
It can be done on women at any point in their life, who haven’t given Birth but wish to close something else in their life.
This ceremony is not exclusive for birthing Mothers.
The closing bond ceremony is for anyone who is going through or went through a traumatic or life changing experience such as marriage, divorce, separation, loss of job, moving homes, changing careers, going into menopause, etc.
The hips are known to be the area of the body where unresolved emotions and trauma are held, this causes blockages of energy channels and closing the bones can help to release these emotions.
The energetic closing of the bones done with the Rebozo helps to calm the mind, align ideas, energies, connecting to her sacredness, her sexuality and to feel prepared to continue in this new reality.

Mother blessing ceremony
A Mother Blessing Ceremony (also known as a Blessingway), is a beautiful way to honour the woman’s pregnancy and transition into motherhood, and has its roots in Navajo (native American) ceremony, which celebrates this momentous rite of passage. Unlike a conventional baby shower, where the focus is on bringing gifts for the baby, a Mother Blessing is a way for a woman’s close friends to make her feel loved, nurtured and pampered, to infuse her with blessings, strength and confidence for the birth and wisdom for motherhood.
A Mother Blessing involves a gathering of the mother-to-be’s most trusted friends and family, who sit in the power of a circle and share amongst one another. Traditionally it is a woman-only gathering and may include her mother, sisters, aunts, daughters, best of friends, mentors – anyone she respects, looks up to or values. It helps the woman to prepare herself for the birth, emotionally, spiritually and mentally, for the all important role of a new mother. She feels ‘held’ and supported by those she loves and respects – a great way to help her release any blockages she may be feeling and to allow her to embrace what’s to come.
Hearing other women’s birth stories as you share around the circle can be surprising, exciting and heartwarming to hear. A Mother Blessing can be very affirming, empowering and uplifting.
